The fact that this Improv group has multiple leaders and shares the responsibilities is one of the best features of the group. Each co-host has wonderful things to offer. But beyond that, there is no one person to "rule the roost". Each co-host is generous with the time, and yes, does have to explain the nature of Improv, they all realize that this is not about THEM, but about the group, There are too many Improv groups, and believe me, I have been ten or more, where the leader of the group either wants to do all the entertaining, or wants to tell each participant how to perform in each scene. I continue: some hosts spend half the time expounding on how Improv should be done, or telling each person how each scene should be played. The reason that MDI is so great, and believe me, it is GREAT, is because of the freedom, or course, within the boundaries of sensitivity to others, that is given each participant. I hope I can continue to enjoy this group for many years. PLUS, the way they treat their participants is like honored guests. THE BEST!
